Top by Vero Moda VERY, thank you b!

We actually wanted to leave today for New York, but our flight was cancelled due to Hurricane Irene. Luckily we were able to reschedule our flight for tomorrow. The new itinerary is just awful, we have to leave around 6:30 in the morning, take the train to Hamburg, fly to London and then we have a layover of 7 hours...any ideas on how to make the time pass by? I get bored easily :)
But then finally we will fly to NY, hopefully my bf's family is fine, we probably have to help them pump out the basement!

These are some clothes and accessories that I packed for NYFW. I happened to pack a lot of shimmering/metallic pieces. It was so hard to choose what to bring, especially for NYFW. Will you guys attend any shows? For me, Joy Cioci and Katya Leonovich are confirmed. Maybe we can catch up :) just write me an email or tweet me @heylilahey

Apparently polka dots are back in season, if even Fashiolista says it, see here :) I just read it on twitter. Funny that I had a polka dot romper on yesterday!

Yay!!!

 Yay! I passed the GRE well!! The GRE is the Graduate Record Examination, it is a test that is an admission requirement for graduate schools in the States. I am so happy I am done with this test...it was hard and the room was like 40°C warm and it took 4 hours!

After the test we took the train home and I bought myself the Vogue to get some inspiration for NYFW (there will be a major packing situation going on soon...), but to be honest, I got none...I know why personal fashion blogs are so popular and such an inspiration.

boyfriend jeans

I always liked the boyfriend jeans style...on others...unfortunately I never found a pair that fit me well or that I liked. They often looked far too big on me, not loose and relaxed. However, some days ago, by a fluke I rediscovered my awfully old but nicely worn out and soft Diesel Jeans (they are still from the Pre-Euro, Diesel-still-affordable-times, Germans know what I mean). Back then, I loved the baggy-style, oversized trousers and sweaters, so perfect to reinterpret the jeans into the "trendy" boyfriend style :)

Ah, and I must not forget the boots. They are my latest great find at TJ Maxx. No special brand, but with a perfect heel and shaft, soft leather and such a bargain!

traveling

I love traveling but I hate packing, I think many people feel the same. On a journey, I normally choose a comfortable and simple outfit, with enough layers. On these photos I was on my way to visit my parents last weekend. That my patent loafers matched my suitcase was not intentional...nice coincidence though :)

What are your next travel plans? In 10 days I am going to NEW YORK!

An outfit in black and grey, how boring. At least the materials differ. That day, it was really really cold, and even though I had tights on and a jacket, I was freezing. So yeah, maybe the outfit would have looked better without tights and a blazer, but it would not have been possible :) Do you guys in Europe have the same weird summer weather?

Photos taken on my way to work. It was raining and cold, I wish I wouldn't have to wear tights anymore. Luckily I am going to New York and California soon to flee from this cold weather and to stock up on some sunshine!

Do you guys know any cool thrift shops (no expensive/exorbitant priced presorted ones) in NYC, Boston, San Diego, LA and San Francisco? I would be happy about any recommendation and also tips for vegan restaurants, delis or other vegan food places in these towns? You see, I will travel a lot starting at the end of this month!

I slept at my boyfriend's place and I had no clothes to change into (I don't like to wear the same outfit for 2 days), so I tried the shirt as a skirt style :) how do you like it? At work no one realized it was not a regular skirt. And you can do it with any shirt!

Check out my incredible MIA shoes! I bought them at Macys last year, and this year I will definitely look there again for another nice pair of Mia Shoes :) My hair got even lighter this weekend during the tournament. I like it, maybe I will go to a hairdresser and improve the "ombre" look, what do you guys think?

Just went to the movies and watched The Green Lantern. Awesome movie!
