Wow, again a not black-on-black-with-maybe-a-little-bit-of-white-winter-uniform-outfit. Let's see how long I can keep this, even though this outfit is not really colorful, is gold a color?
By the way, can you believe this? I got these pants in August for 5 Euros at H&M!!! I bought them in silver and gold. I wore them a couple of times already but they never made it on the blog, so: tadaa! How do you like them? They don't fit perfectly but I don't care for 5 Euros!!
My friends called them Christmas decoration, I like that. I did not decorate my place so my clothes have to make up for it!

The sun goes down right after lunch, these shots were taken at like 2 p.m. (just kidding, but it really gets dark sooner and sooner, so I hope night pics are ok, too?).

I know a lot is going on in this outfit, many patterns, many materials, many colors. I just didn't want to wear my black winter uniform and a black coat again. And I had to wear my new gloves!...but I will go back to black soon, just the best combi.

Thanksgiving

Hopefully you guys had a great Thanksgiving, too! My boyfriend is american and he missed his favorite holiday, so we decided to just bring it to Germany! It was my first Thanksgiving and we had 11 guests, it was a challenge :)
The menu was (everything besides the Turkey was vegan or nearly vegan):

- Pumpkin Soup

- Turkey (our first Turkey, we actually had two, and they turned out great!) and its gravy
- walnut lentil loaf
- vegan gravy
- salad with homemade cranberry vinaigrette
- garlic mashed potatoes with white beans
- sweet potato casserole with marshmallows
- green beans with roasted almonds
- stuffing (with celery and carrots)
- broccoli casserole
- cranberry sauce (bought)

- gingerbread with buttercream frosting
- pumpkin cinnamon doughnuts
- pumpkin pie

Omg, it was all really delicious, luckily we had leftovers for the next 3 days (see last pic). My vegan gravy turned out great, everyone preferred it over the turkey gravy. I will make it for Christmas again! The recipe is by ohsheglows.com!

I bought this jacket like 6 years ago, it is so timeless, a great purchase at Vero Moda and it was even on sale! I love bargains like these :)

It was so warm that day that I was able to take photos without a jacket, yay :)
Lately I am trying to incooperate my summer outfits into my winter outfits. Shorts with tights and layering is the key, I never put my summer clothes away in a box. Do you?

preparations for thanksgiving

On Thursday I will celebrate my first Thanksgiving! My boyfriend is american and he misses these holidays here in Germany, so we thought, we just have to cook a big dinner by ourselves and invite some friends! I will try to cook and bake many vegan culinary treats :) Photos will follow!
I am also responsible for the decoration and some days ago we collected autumn leaves and chestnuts for the table. I was wearing a funny mix, I realized when I looked at the photos. I just put everything on around me that seemed warm. Winter is coming slowly!

it's getting colder

Good bye autumn and hello winter...the last days have been so cold that I just wanted to snuggle up into my bed with a hot water bottle every time the sun sets and that was already about 4 or 5 pm...So every time I see a beam of sun, I run outside to get some Vitamin D :)

Who follows my blog longer now, knows that I don't own the most expensive clothes, shoes or bags. I mostly shop at American Apparel, Monki, H&M, Asos and vintage. However, I got a lot of high end make up products gifted and I am so happy about it! I tried a lot of different cheaper products but somehow the more expensive ones are worth the price difference! I am by no means a make up expert!! But I wanted to put together some of my favorite products right now for my blog.

magic prescriptives illuminating liquid potion - a liquid that creates an image of perfection. and the words "potion" and "magic" just got me...unfortunately the discontinued this product, but they still have the magic powder (I use that sometimes, too)
MAC mineralize foundation - I got this foundation in the States. I rarely wear foundation but this one is really light and gives you a nice little glow
MAC zoom lash - got this mascara tester with the foundation. That was like 2 months ago and it is still not empty even though I use it every day!
MAC satin eye shadow - an older shade, I could not find it on their online shop, but MAC eye shadows are always a great investment, they last forever!
Guerlain "les meteorites" powder for the face - with the different shades it can give you a nice glow, covers up red spots and brightens up grey shades. And doesn't it look just cute???
Victoria Jackson Cosmetics light powder - I could not live without powder...I feel like my face looks grey and uneven without powder, so I use it nearly every day
Guerlain bronzing powder, Terracotta - and I could not live without a bronzing powder and this one is pretty nice!
Givenchy Eyeliner pencil - I used I liquid eyeliner by MAC before and I have to say this pencil is by FAR better, easy to apply and you don't make mistakes so easily, somehow...
Givenchy eyeshadow - also an older shade, also not the most unique colors to be honest, but nice! And the box is so cute! I had to include it :)
Brushes by MAC, Guerlain and Estee Lauder (high quality brushes really make a difference!)


As I said, I am no expert, but these products are definitely my favorites right now. I am only missing a great concealer...any tips? I need one for my dark circles under my eyes and to cover up pimples...until now, no single concealer convinced me. Maybe you guys have some recommendations???

I already talked to you guys about this weird fog that is hanging over our city the last three days on twitter. It looks so cool and weird, unfortunately it also got really really cold. I always tell myself "it's not that bad", but after standing around outside my toes freeze...
As you know, I am on the mission to in cooperate some color into my black winter uniform. These pants are a great option. They were cheap, they feel soft and are super comfy. And I thought some lipstick makes it more interesting, too.
What are your ideas to color-up black on black winter outfits?

erotic kartoffel

I am always on the hunt for a new cool restaurant in my city. The other day I found the "Erotic Kartoffel" (Kartoffel = potato). Crazy mix of indian, german and mediterranean food all based around potatoes! I had a coconut cashew curry with potato. I did not take a photo of it because it smelled so yummy and I was so hungry that I basically inhaled it, haha. The apple muffin my boyfriend got, was nice, too :)  Maybe I have some Bremen readers, you can find the restaurant here!

winter uniform

I hate when people only wear black during winter...but somehow it just happens. It's winter: Outfits get boring because it gets more important to cover your skin than dressing up (especially in Bremen with this icy wind). So I think this will be my winter uniform: Black jacket, black pants or tights, black ankle boots. i will try to spice it up with patterns, colorful pants and many different scarfs!

And do you want to know my secret for keeping warm and still dressing fancy? An angora kidney warmer. Haha, I know, I am such a grandma, but wearing this you need less layers and it keeps you warm even on the bike! It's hidden under every winter outfit of mine...so, now you know a little fashion secret of mine :)

new jacket

Meet my new winter jacket! I found this little cutie in the sales section at H&M, poor little thing was hanging there all alone, so I HAD to rescue her (err...no, I am not trying to save money, duh?!). Anyway, it was a great bargain and investment, it got so freaking cold today! At least the sun tickled my skin and I was able to save up some Vitamin D :) I love this jacket, because it somehow looks as if I am wearing a leather jacket with a fur vest on top, and I was trying to find a vest anyway!

What are your plans for the weekend? I will work on my applications, go to a voodoo exhibition and gym gym gym, I got so lazy again. I blame it all on the coldness!

Hey guys, sorry that I have been such a bad blogger lately. Actually I hate that sentence, I hate when people write that in their blog, don't know why. It is not that I don't have time to blog, I always have ideas and words to share. I just can't take any cool photos lately because once I find some time, it's dark...and I tried taking them in the morning, I look sooooo tired on the pictures then :) Therefore, some photos we took when we went out for dinner and I got a bit comical.
No cool fashion shots, I know, so I thought, I'd write something about my life, what I am up to now, and so on....
I am currently trying to apply to american Universities and it is SO much work and so complicated!!! Every university wants something different and my German University does not really cooperate. On top of that, all together (GRE & TOEFL-Test, application fees, ...) costs a lot, so I hope I get into least one school, that makes me worried. I will apply for Psychology and Nutrition in New York and Boston. I will keep you updated when I submitted my application, then you can start keeping your fingers crossed :)
Luckily I eat very well lately (mostly vegan), cook a lot and started to work out again, this really balances out the stress. I actually cook A LOT lately. I already put something on my wishlist for Christmas: The Kind Diet by Alicia Silverstone. I fell in love with her blog and I read some excerpts from her book and it's amazing!

Do you already have something on your Christmas Wishlist (it's ok, it's already November lol)? Or do you even have present ideas (the harder part...)?

paint black

The shoes you saw in this post were once beige (see here). But they annoyed me so much, the got black stripes on them unbelievable quickly and I already had a NYFW outfit crisis with them. So I decided to give them a make over. It was really easy! I used a solvent as a pre-treatment for the leather and then just painted black leather paint on the shoe, let it dry and rubbed some shoe polish on top. What do you think? Right decision?

Sorry for those crappy photos in Tally Weijl (first mirror that I found yesterday) but my photographer boyfriend had shoulder surgery and can't take any photos lately. He is ok, recovering slowly but steadily! Surgery on the shoulder is not nice ... Yesterday I was walking around in the city, desperately trying to find a cool vest that I can wear over my leather jacket like I did with my cardigan vest :) any tips?

And on thursday I was invited to a cool party by museumbabes, in ... NEW YORK! Of course I couldn't go, a bit far away ... but next time I'm in New York, I won't miss it.

My plans for the weekend: Shopping, cooking, baking, working on my applications, enjoying this mild autumn weather! Have a great weekend! What are your plans???

Freimarkt - that is Bremen's 5th season of the year. I am definitely not as obsessed with it as the rest of the city but I could not say no to the cotton candy and if you follow my twitter account you also met Zeezee, my new Zebra balloon friend.
