Ok, summer is officially over but I wear shorts all year round. Also for my body type it's easier to find shorts and they are more flattering on me. I own these shorts already for AGES, and I won't tell you how long, it's embarrassing :)
This summer I pimped them a bit and added some studs. I found them on amazon, try the keywords "pyramid studs" or "Paramiden Nieten" in German, or find them here (I'm not paid for this link, that's just where I ordered them). Make sure they have four teeth so they stay on/in the fabric securely.

I wear them all year round! They look really good with tights and boots! It makes winter outfits look more interesting. Lots of brands have extra warm tights.
