shapewear DAY-TO-NIGHT and giveaway!

Look one, day: Waist cincher, Vedette. Shirt, Urban Outfitters. Jeans, Zara. Shoes, TK Maxx.
Look two, night: Waist cincher, Vedette. Shirt, Zara. Skirt, H&M. Shoes, MIA.

Why is this post called DAY-TO-NIGHT? Because I had the amazing opportunity to style a DAY-TO-NIGHT-LOOK with Vedette Shapewear. I actually thought about buying a corsage or something similar before, as I love the look to wear lingerie wear as outerwear, but I was not sure at first, if I could pull it off.
When I received this waist cincher, I was amazed! It made my waist look so tiny and gave me a more womanly and sexy figure, I loved it! And the challenge to wear it as a day and as a night look was actually not that hard. It's an amazing garment that makes me feel better and sexier and more confident. I also think this simple black waist cincher was a good start for creating a look with shapewear, it is chic and classic, so soft and nice to wear, and I can style it with anything! WHat do you think, how do you like what I styled in the DAY-TO-NIGHT challenge?

And now the amazing news: I am hosting my first GIVEAWAY ever!!! I am so excited! And here another one of my DIY projects, my bleached denim shirt :) I only bleached the sleeves, but I think it adds a nice twist to a classic denim shirt. How do you like it?

How was your weaken? Mine was amazing, my boyfriend and I went shopping (ZARA!!! I have to show you my finds, soon!), we had a great time in Oldenburg and I went out with friends to a club yesterday and danced like crazy!!!

February 25, 2012

big

Shorts, DIY. Sweater, vintage. Shoes, Converse. Jewelry, vintage and H&M.

Yay! Finally I can show you my new DIY shorts! As you can see, I cut off a pair of jeans and bleached the left side of the shorts! How do you think it turned out? I am in a real bleaching mode right now, I bleached the sleeves of a jeans shirt and I am bleaching a pair of jeans right now, too!

Today we are going to Oldenburg where they have a Zara store, so excited! I can't believe Bremen still does not have a Zara store!!!! I think I am getting some summery sandals, stay tuned.

Have a great weekend! What are your plans? Did you do any DIY projects lately? Put some links of your projects in the comments, I would love to check them out!

windy

Coat and bag, vintage.

Such a cute little duck lake in the middle of the city! A bit hidden behind a museum and so romantic!
How do you like this jacket? It's a really cute vintage find and even though it's fake leather and fur it's sooooo warm! I am thinking about adding buttons on the inside so I can wear it inside out.
It's my boyfriend's birthday today and we will go to the city, do some shopping for him and have a nice lunch! I am not going to work today (where I write my thesis) and just enjoy with him our free Friday :)

February 22, 2012

at the customs

Pullover, vintage. Shorts, F21. Jacket, DIY. Shoes, Converse.

I had to pick up a package at the customs office and after that the light was so pretty that we decided to shoot there, too. Luckily we had the camera with us! I am so in love with my new vintage find, glittery light colored sweaters are my favorite right now! It just fits with everything and makes every outfit a little bit more special.
By the way, my DIY projects ore going well, I bleached a pair of shorts and I will post an outfit with them soon! Here is a little sneak preview of them: HERE. How are your DIY projects going?

February 21, 2012

black choker

Pullover, bag and shorts, vintage. Choker, DIY.

Oh wow, nearly all vintage in this outfit besides my shoes (they are from a randoms tore in Amsterdam) and the necklace/choker. I made it myself, I just wrapped a think black leather band around my neck and tied it with a simple knot. With dark red lipstick it spices up every outfit I think! I had a jacket on that day, too, don't worry. But it's getting warmer and I can take outfit photos without my jacket :)

Pssst: I am dip-dying some shorts with bleach right now, sooo excited how it turns out! I will keep you posted! Did you do any DIY projects lately?

February 20, 2012

fluffy coat

Coat, Asos. Hat, H&M. Jeans, Primark. Bag, Forever 21. Boots, TK Maxx.

One good thing about this winter's crazy cold weather was that I could take my cute fluffy fake fur coat out pretty often. It keeps me warm and makes every outfit a little bit more interesting. Anyway, I am still happy that it got warmer the last days, so I can start wearing shorts and skirts with tights again! What do you think about this outfit?
How was your weekend? I literally did nothing, like really nothing. It's good to do that now and then, but this week needs to be a bit more active :)

Happy Monday!!!

diy shorts

Lately I am doing a lot of DIY's (see my dip dye pants, my neon necklace, and earrings, my silver sleeves coat, my DIY orange scarf and some arm candy I made), I really got hooked on it :)
My next plan is to cut some jeans off and alter them, maybe with studs or bleach or fabric. Here are some of my inspirations! You can find all the shorts on my fashiolista profile!

What is great! You can get supplies cheap with Office Depot promotional codes that makes creating affordable.

dip dye pants

Coat, Etam. Leather Jacket, AphOrism. Bag, vintage. Jeans, Primark and DIY dip dyed. Shoes, TK Maxx.

I am so into the ombre clothing look right now. I was especially amazed by dip dye jeans, shorts and shirts that I have seen all over the internet. In this post you see my first try, I also dip dyed a shirt and I plan to bleach another pair of jeans and shorts! It took me a while to find the perfect bleach here in Germany, as it seems that they don't sell real aggressive bleach everywhere. So if someone from Germany would like to know the brand of bleach I used, just write me!

How do you like my nail polish by the way? (Click, to see more photos!)

What are your plans this weekend? I am going to the museum tomorrow, yeah, finally I have some time for culture :)

Have a great weekend!

February 16, 2012

It's all about the details!

Joy Cioci, Fall 2012 (photos from here)

My favorite looks from Joy Cioci's new collection. I love the colors and the patterns, she used animal prints but created something new by layering and fading them (like many sites wrote, not only my words :) All of these looks I posted, I would wear head to toe, but also just single pieces would be amazing to combine, for example a Joy Cioci blouse with a simple jeans! Anyway, these are just six looks, check out the other looks here.
I wish I could have attended NYFW and have had a first peek at her new designs, I was in cold old Germany :) , but I hope to be part of it next season, as I plan to go to NYC in September again!!!

What do you guys think of the collection? Do you have any NYFW related posts?

Bisous,
Mia

winter sun and snakeskin shoes

Shoes, Primark.

Some gorgeous photos my boyfriend took the other day. I love the lighting, winter sun can be so pretty! But don't be fooled by the sun, it was ice cold :) At least I had my new gorgeous shoes by Primark on that made me happy!

As I mentioned in the previous post, I was traveling and busy this weekend, so I could not answer to your comments and could not visit your blogs, yet. I will get back to all that today, I promise! Hope you all had a great weekend!!!

February 10, 2012

pink pullover and long skirt

Skirt, vintage. COat, Etam. Pullover, Zara. Headband, Tally Weijl. Boots, Bullboxer.

Hey guys! I am happy you liked my last post. I didn't paint for a while and it was a lot of fun to illustrate Aimee Song. After this weekend I will paint more!
This weekend I will travel and be busy, so I won't be able to answer your comments and check out your blogs, but I will do it Monday when I will be back! I don't want to tell you what I am up to this weekend, because it is really important for me and I don't want to jinx it :) But please wish me luck!!!

I bought this Pullover in December and I love it so much that I don't dare wearing it everyday, do you know what I mean? I don't want to ruin it too quickly :) Waering a one skirt that day was a great idea! It was really cold, but two tights and a long skirt kept me warmer than a pair of jeans! Click for the rest of the photos!!!

Have a great weekend, what are your plans?

February 09, 2012

illustration aimee

Illustration with oil pastel

Do you recognize this girl? It's Aimee Song from Song of Style. I met her last September during Fashion Week and she was such a nice and sweet person, I loved talking with her about Fashion Week and other fashion related stuff :) Some time ago she posted one of my illustrations on her blog, so sweet! But it was only an illustration made on the computer when I had not so much experience yet with my graphic tablet. Her last posts really inspired me, so I thought to create another illustration, this time a "real" one, of her :)
Hope you like it, tell me what you think! Check out my etsy store HERE!

Mia

mix and not match

Coat and bag, vintage. Shoes, H&M. Gloves, Asos. Hat, Monki. Scarf, Vila.

Yes I know, this is not the most stylish or chic outfit ever. What what to do when it is minus 12 degrees celcius outside? Layer up. This is how my mornings look like lately, as it is freezing outside: I put together a gorgeous outfit, then I am sad I can't wear amazing shoes as my feet would freeze off. I look outside to see if it's slippery or not and decide then if I wear heels or flats. Then I get annoyed that I have to wear my vintage coat again, as it is the warmest. Realizing I am so late for the tram I just grab randomly warm accesoires, like a hat a scarf and a pair of gloves, and ran outside. And that is how this outfit was created haha :) I swear, my outfit underneath was really stylish ;)

February 07, 2012

ideas for valentine's day

Illustration by me, painted with oil pastel. Buy some of my art HERE

Valentine's day is not a big deal for me, I look more forward to anniversaries or personal "special days". But I like to give or receive just a little something on February 14th :) It doesn't have to be anything big. Apart from a classic red rose, I put together some ideas for Valentine's day that I had the last days, for her and him.
More after the click!

February 06, 2012

snakeskin shoes

Boots & Jeans, Primark. Coat, Etam. Sweater and necklace, H&M. Leather jacket, AphOrism.

Scored these beauties on a shopping spree yesterday! Primark always surprises me. Aren't they amazing for just 24 Euros? And comfortable, too! Yay!

Click if you want to see the whole outfit! I actually had five layers under the coat, two pairs of socks and warm tights under the jeans! I put my hat off for the photos but apart from that this is what I wore in -11 degrees Celsius weather! I am a bit bored of bloggers standing in the snow with bare legs, admitting they had to wrap blankets around them to survive this outfit or just standing in the freezing cold without a jacket or just a tiny leather jacket. I am more interested in how people dress warm (really warm) but still chic!

I think layers are the key, as well as warm insoles, kidney warmers (haha, I am such a grandma) and thick hats. Unfortunately I don't have the best collection of bold hats, I have to try harder to look for some :)

February 04, 2012

neon DIY - again :)

Coat, vintage. Dress & Shoes, H&M. Necklace, Primark and spray painted.

I wear this coat constantly, but it is just the warmest and coziest one that I have and keeps me warm in these freezing temperatures (don't be fooled by the sunny photos, yes it was sunny, but ICE cold). Well, maybe it does not keep me perfectly warm, I am fighting off a cold today, ginger and lemon work wonders!
I received my NOWHERE shoes the other day (see HERE), I have saved them on my bookmark list for a while and when they were 50% off I could not resist! They are not made out of leather and are pointy but they are still comfortable, I was surprised! Anyway, when it gets (a lot) warmer I will wear them and take some photos. But until now I have to wear shoes in which my feet, covered up with at least two pairs of socks, fit in, haha!

What are your plans for the weekend?

February 03, 2012

random

Some random photos I took the last few days!

1. The Empire State Building and The Eiffel Tower are great ring keepers, so precious to me. Like this they are more than cheesy tourist souvenirs!

2. Dramatic sky photographed during a train ride. I could take a million photos when I am on the train, the landscape just looks so magical when you move so fast!

3. Simple jewelry and nail polish, great combination!

4. Hamburg, such a pretty city. I have to admit, I would not want to live there but I love to visit it, go shopping, go out, visit museums...it's just so interesting!

Click for all the photos I just described!! Have a great Friday, I am so happy! TGIF!!!

February 01, 2012

its too cold outside!!!

Jeans, Tally Weijl. Bag, New Yorker. Hat, Monki. Shoes, Orizonte/TJ Maxx. Coat, vintage. Gloves, Asos.

Brrrrr...it was extremely cold today! It was so cold that practice was canceled (we have Lacrosse practice outside). This meant a free afternoon for me, so we decided to quickly shoot some photos of my randomly-layerd-together outfit. I had a top on, a t-shirt, a pullover, a cardigan and my super thick vintage coat. It was still freeeeezing! At least the sun is out and does not set as early as it did some weeks ago, the sky was really pretty!

I just got two invites for New York Fashion Week and it makes me really really happy, as I have been there last September and it was an amazing experience and I felt so honored (tried Paris and London, but did not get any yet...). But at the same time I am a bit sad as I cannot attend, don't have the money for a plane ticket :( anyone wanna take me in their suitcase? haha :) Maybe next September, I plan to visit NYC then again! Have you ever been to New York, my favorite city?

STAY WARM!!! (click for more photos, and can you find the two jumping photos? One looks really funny, haha!)
